Xoran MiniCAT — Quick, Compact, and Precise

A CAT (computerized axial tomography) scan is a high-tech way to see the internal structure of your body. The scan uses 3-D x-ray images to help your doctor diagnose your condition. Most CAT or CT (computerized tomography) scanners are large, full-body devices that require a whole hospital room or imaging center to house them.

In our office, we use a Xoran MiniCAT. The MiniCAT is designed specifically for ENTs and other health care providers who only need to scan the sinuses and temporal bones and do not need a full-size CAT scanner.

Our MiniCAT emits significantly less radiation than a full-body scanner, and most scans only take 10 or 20 seconds. You're able to sit comfortably in a chair while the MiniCAT makes a single rotation around your head. It's quite different from the narrow, confining space of a full CAT scanner.

We can complete your exam in a single visit. You don't have to take additional time off from work or find child care for multiple visits, and it minimizes the number of co-pays you may face (depending on your insurance).

Once we have the results, your physician will go over them with you and make treatment recommendations.
